Devon bound...

This year our summer holiday soundtrack was provided by Mika. Bessies favourite track (and therefore the only track played in the car all week) being 'Lolipop' (even though some of the lyrics sound a bit dodgy). So singing in high pitched Mecuryesque voices we headed off for sunny Devon.

Another trip to Salcombe. The weather was 'changeable' but we managed to visit the local beaches, Eliza took her first paddle, Bess nearly managed to destroy our third camera in two years, we visted the national aquarium (again...Bess is becoming a bit obsessed with rays, sharks and bloat fish) and generally had a very nice time.

Who says theres nothing on Television?

Since the second series of 'The Inbetweeners' was a bit of disappointment and they only seem to make about four episodes of 'Outnumbered' every couple of years, and we've watched every episode of 'Two and Half Men' about ten times - where are do you go for a few laughs? Not the dreadful remake of 'Reginald Perrin' thats for sure!
...but hold on what's this on Nick Junior? My current favourite programme, which has made me laugh more than "Harry Hills' TV Burp" (when is that coming back?)...it's 'Ben and Holly's Little Kingdom'.
Ok its about Fairies and Elves........and yes, it is for kids (duh..its on Nick Junior) but there's lots in it for us 'big kids' to enjoy too. watch it, you'll be hooked too.

The new arrival has a name! Welcome Eliza (something) Taylor (middle name yet to be decided - we used to be so indecisive...........now we're not so sure).

Bessie's Little Sister.......

...arrived at 9:53 this morning. Weighing in at a healthy 8lb 1oz baby Taylor (name to follow) is doing well (well mainly sleeping and eating). Mum is also well - if a little tired and sore.

Dad is fine too - if anyone was wondering.

Bess is, well, a very excited big sister........

Hello...is there anybody out there?.......

...I bet you all thought we'd forgotten about you.....alternatively (and slightly more realistically) nobody has noticed that we haven't posted anything since early March. Perhaps it's that nothing could the top the news of our replacement windows (we're still excited about that).

So what has happened since last we blogged...well....Lal has continued to bloom and expand (although even now people say 'you look so slim'); our allotment has gone from a weedy patch to a slightly less weedy patch (with the only thing growing well being dandelions and our remarkable raspberry canes- which despite all our efforts are still growing well); Attended Rob's 18th birthday celebrations (how old do I feel now!); I've seen one film...the watchable but rather odd 'Watchmen'; Watched the rather disapointing second series of 'the Inbetweeners' (still they are repeating the first series starting next week); Bess has moved bedrooms, so now has enough room to swing a cat (still no exam passes though); and....well....thats about it....you can see why we haven't been blogging much...sorry, we promise to do something more interesting in the next week or two...honest.

Wob, we have 'sorted it out'.

Killer

There is definitely a theme emerging from this years blogs...that is how everything is conspiring to make me (Brian) feel older. Friday night we went off to Brum to see the Killers. They were excellent - a really entertaining performance, with my own personal highlight being 'Mr Brightside'. But, oh dear, after the show ended my ears were ringing like never before and everyone's voices sounded like they were on helium. I didn't get back to normal until Sunday. Why oh why do these so called 'pop groups' have to be so loud ...see I'm turning into my dad!
